DISCOVERING THE VALUE OF AFFECTIVITY
Among the problems that preadolescents and adolescents are faced with are sometimes emotional fragility, the reduced ability to make choices aimed at a life project, the fragmentation or lack of traditional educational agencies. Hence the effort for the boy to find points of reference.
For many reasons, parents are not always prepared to adequately deal with their children’s emotional and sexual training. The information presented at school or by the media in many cases does not form the value of the person in its entirety, nor does it educate to take responsibility for choices and behaviors.
The teaching units of “Up2Me” take harmoniously into consideration six dimensions of the person: physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, historical (family /growth environment)

The project
The anthropological vision underlying the training program is that of the “person-relationship”. Being in relation to man is his essence, his ontological foundation.
The path, for each age group, starts from a detailed knowledge of the beauty and complexity of the human body and then unfolds in stages that facilitate both the maturation of the relationship with oneself and with others, and the discovery of each one’s life plan. In this way, the child and adolescent formulates his thoughts on the various issues and can give reason for his choices, accompanied by tutors capable of listening and empathy.
EXPECTED RESULTS
- Self-knowledge and renewed amazement towards life;
- discovery of the ontological foundation of “being in relationship” and the value of sexuality;
- greater awareness of cultural influences;
- self-esteem growth;
- desire for responsible choices;
- birth of authentic and lasting relationships;
- awareness and involvement of families in the educational process.
IMPLEMENTATION METHODS
The courses are coordinated by a married couple of tutors who can make use of specialists of the various topics addressed (doctors, psychologists …).
The tutors are adequately prepared and qualified by a five / six day compulsory residential course, held by an international team of professionals in the various fields of human sciences.
At the end of this course, those who have passed the final test will be provided with the necessary material for carrying out the educational path containing didactic-methodological sheets and insights for their training.
Continuous monitoring is provided through contact between the tutors and the operating network for effective implementation and verification of the program.
The tutors undertake to sign the guidelines for the promotion of well-being and the protection of minors issued by COBETU (Commission for the promotion of well-being and the protection of minors of the Focolare Movement).
